How 5G is shaping the logistics of the future
Extremely fast data transmission within autonomous logistics or production facilities.
With the help of an interactive Augmented Reality application, we have made it possible to experience how 5G makes this fast data transmission possible.
By means of a controllable real-time 3D setting of a highly modern production plant at the Research Institute for Rationalization (FIR) e. V. at the RWTH Aachen and a logistical connection between this plant and the e.Go plant, the exchange of information could be visualized in an easily understandable way.
A street scooter delivery van transports goods between two locations. The destination is already informed when the vehicle is loaded and knows the exact delivery period thanks to the 5G network. An autonomous vehicle unloads the goods and starts the production chain.
