At a glance

Due to the changes in the gaming industry, the challenge was to develop a format that is future-proof and that does justice to the constantly growing scene. The developed concept creatively communicates the brand by combining all gaming areas, the community area and e-sports into one big festival-like experience. The deep level of integration between all areas creates a relaxing and entertaining environment in which visitors can freely design their time. For the first time, there was a community area with many seating options and smaller game titles that could be played without long waiting times. The festival character provided a fertile environment for interaction and emotion and resonated well with the community. The soccer tables were in constant use and the signature wall was already full after half a day.

Among successful gaming franchises like CoD Modern Warefare, a refreshing lineup of new games and original IPs could be played or viewed, like Death Stranding or Marvel’s Iron Man VR.

The brand experience was intensified during the whole four days by an extensive and entertaining program on stage. This served as a platform for expert talks, a meet & greet with developer legend Hideo Kojima plus various E-sports events climaxing in the FIFA 19 Cologne Cup final.
